Hicham Khalidi

2 February 2017

Pejman Foundation: Café Musée Project presents a talk by Hicham Khalidi, Moroccan curator working at Lafayette Foundation in Paris and Pejman Foundation: Kandovan's current curator-in-residence. During his talk, Khalidi will present Lafayette Foundation and its future building and program.

Founded in October 2013, Lafayette Anticipation, Fondation d'entreprise Galeries Lafayette will open its doors in 2018 in the Marais district of Paris. This public interest foundation aims to support contemporary artists and creative work in general. This new institution is also open to design and fashion, recognizing the unique minds of all creatives in their ability to not only participate in social change, but also anticipate it.

Lafayette Anticipation, Fondation d'entreprise Galeries Lafayette is structured around its production activity. It is the first multidisciplinary centre of its kind in France. As a place of experimentation and fundamental research, the Foundation offers artists, creatives, designers and performers unique conditions and tools for developing prototypes, implementing projects and taking their work in new directions. In addition to exhibitions (largely solo as well as group shows), a variety of transmission forums (encounters, conferences, conversations, performances, screenings, visits, workshops and online presence) give tangibility to the creative process and facilitate exchanges between artists and the public, making Lafayette Anticipation a place of production, reception and active sharing. Lafayette Anticipation, Fondation d'entreprise Galeries Lafayette is also distinguished by its operational flexibility and its willingness to keep a window open to the unexpected. Attentive to the latest developments in art as well as in society, Lafayette Anticipation is a permeable, constantly evolving space, motivated by a desire to surprise and be surprised.
