I AM A PROBLEM is a music video by Benedict for the Detroit-based noise band Wolf Eyes. It started with a standard American late night show with the famous anchorman Charlie Rose, interviewing an alien figure that seems to have come out of a science fiction film. Every time the alien speaks, it was the hard rock music by the band Wolf Eyes that we hear. More confusingly, the questions asked by the interviewer cannot be heard; we can only guess of the alarming situation with the clips of a dolphin having an interview in front of a butchery, or a bone floating in outer space. The video represents the emotions raised in relation to current developments by the alien discussing issues surrounding assimilation in an extra global context.

Will Benedict makes paintings, videos and performances. Benedict is the author of Balenciaga’s spring/summer 2020 advertising campaign. He was born in 1978 in the United States and currently lives and works in Paris.
